Ballot Issues Forum, Fall 2015 The League of Women Voters Education Fund conducts voter service and citizen education activities. It is a nonpartisan nonprofit public policy educational organization, which:

  • Builds citizen participation in the democratic process.

  • Studies key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.

  • Enables people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.

Donations to the Education Fund, a 501(c)(3)corporation, are fully tax-deductible where allowed by law.

Education Fund

The League of Women Voters of Tacoma-Pierce County is funded in two ways:

1. The membership activities and operations of the organization are conducted through a 501(c)(4) private non-profit organization and funding basis. Contributions made toward LWVT-PC operations and advocacy activities are not tax-deductible.

2. The nonpartisan voter education (e.g., forums, publications) and voter registration activities of the organization are conducted through a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization called the Education Fund. Contributions made to this Fund are tax-deductible. The Fund is managed pursuant to separate bylaws and with its own board of directors.

The mission of the Education Fund is exclusively non-partisan voter information and education.
